Janet is an experienced Occupational Therapist, having been in practice for over 30 years in a variety of settings, including hospitals, social services, primary care trusts and in private practice. She has particular expertise in disability equipment, access and ergonomics in the workplace.
Janet joins the Exeter Disability Centre team with a range of skills including assessments in: ergonomics and specialist seating, mobility (including powered and manual wheelchairs) and adaptations (including hand rails, stairlifts, ramps, through floor lifts and adapting toilet facilities).
Janet is extremely committed to enabling people to increase or maintain their independence in their personal and work life, making informed choices for their lives. She believes in encouraging people to maintain their employment, community involvement and home life, so that they can continue to lead valuable and fulfilled lives, with increased self-esteem and motivation.
Janet lives in Exeter with her husband Trevor, 3 children and Archie the dog and enjoys music, playing piano and flute when she has time and enjoys baking cakes, sewing and knitting.
